Gregory Rose
Gregory Rose is an Associate Professor with the Faculty of Law at the University of Wollongong where he is a member of the Australian National Centre for Ocean Resources and Security. He holds Arts, Law and Masters of Law degrees from Monash University and is admitted to practice as a Barrister and Solicitor (ACT, Vic, High Crt).
His research specialises in the intersections of international law with the marine environment and with transnational crime. In particular, it focuses on the development of mechanisms for the effective implementation of the relevant international standards in Australia and the Asia-Pacific.
Greg has substantial practical experience as an international lawyer, as Head of the Trade, Environment and Nuclear Law Unit in the Legal Office of the Australian Department of Foreign Affairs and Trade; and previously as Director of the Marine Resources Program at the Foundation for International Environmental Law and Development (FIELD) at the University of London.
