Chris commenced his Masters with the Centre in 2004. From 1997 to 2002, he was a Lecturer in Marine Policy and Management in the Faculty of Fisheries and Marine Environment at the Australian Maritime College . For the past two years, he has been based in Southeast Asia, where he has held a position with the Southeast Asian Fisheries Development Center , been a presenter on Thai TV, and recently worked with the UN Economic and Social Commission for Asia and the Pacific as a consultant on a regional fisheries project.
Chris's research focuses on the policy and regulatory considerations in the management of gill net fishing. He has previously published on Australian fisheries law and policy, and has developed and delivered courses on coastal zone management, government and marine policy, and fisheries management and planning. Chris enjoys photography, seafood, and his regular visits to the beaches of southern Thailand and the islands of the Andaman Sea .
