Andi joined ANCORS in March 2007 as a United Nations-Nippon Foundation Fellow. He will be in the centre for six months (March-September 2007) before continuing on to the second phase of his fellowship at DOALOS Office, in New York, the United States.
His research is about Indonesia's submission of its claim to an extended continental shelf. Andi is looking at its current status and problems in the context of Article 76 of the LOSC. Being a surveyor by profession, Andi emphasizes on the technical aspects in his research.
Andi holds a permanent position as a lecturer in the Department of Geodetic and Geomatic Engineering, Gadjah Mada University in Indonesia. He did his masters degree in Surveying and Spatial Information Systems from the University of New South Wales. Since 2004, Andi has been actively publishing works concerning technical aspects of law of the sea, especially maritime boundary delimitation. To date, he has published approximately 50 publications including articles, journal papers, conference papers, and books in English and Indonesian.
