Professor George Kailis

Professor George Kailis is the Foundation Dean of Business at Notre Dame’s Sydney Campus. He holds qualifications in Law and Management from the University of Western Australia.
Professor Kailis has extensive academic, business and community experience, and previously held senior management positions at Notre Dame’s Fremantle Campus.
In both the School of Management, and then as Dean of the College of Business at Notre Dame’s Fremantle Campus, Professor Kailis has sponsored new courses, overseen a three fold increase in student numbers, and closely integrated students’ academic studies with business experience.
Professor Kailis is a Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Western Australia, and a director of the M.G. Kailis Group, one of Western Australia’s largest private companies.
Current committee memberships include the Commonwealth’s National Oceans Office Advisory Group and the Integrated Fisheries Allocation Advisory Committee (WA).
Professor Kailis’ research interests include the environment, family business and strategy. He is a former member of the Prime Minister’s Supermarket to Asia Council and was recognised by the World Economic Forum as a Global Leader for Tomorrow in 1998.
