Glenn Hurry
Managing Director, Australian Fisheries Management Authority
Glenn Hurry is Managing Director of the Australian Fisheries Management Authority. Glenn has a Master’s degree in Aquaculture from Deakin University, Victoria.
Glenn is responsible for the management of this Division and the provision of advice on fish and forest issues to the Minister for Fisheries Forestry and Conservation. He is also the Chair of the Western and Central pacific Fisheries Commission, a member of the board of the Fisheries Research and Development Corporation and Australia’s Fisheries Commissioner to a number of regional fisheries Commissions. The general work of the fisheries and forestry Division involves provision of sound policy and management advice to the Minister’s on a broad range of fisheries and forestry issues, including management of Australia’s international negotiations in regional and international forums and the provision of advice on national sustainability issues, staff management, leadership and development and support for the Australian Fisheries Management Authority.
As well as his work on Australian and national and international fisheries & forestry issues, Glenn is also an Australian farmer growing sheep and cattle on his property outside of Canberra. |
